A Windy, Sun-Soaked Double Win ⚾️☀️
Sunday was one of those game days you don’t forget. The kind where the wind is nonstop, the sun is way stronger than you expected, and by the end of it, you’re covered in dust, a little sunburnt… and completely happy you showed up for every second of it.
This one was extra special for me because I got to photograph my best friend’s son’s team. There’s just something different about capturing moments when it’s people you love. Every play feels a little more meaningful, every smile a little more personal.
And these boys? They showed up.
From the very first pitch, they were locked in—hustling, encouraging each other, and playing with so much heart. The wind didn’t slow them down one bit, even as it kicked up dirt across the field and made every play just a little more unpredictable.
They ended up winning both games, and you could feel the excitement building with each inning. Teammates cheering from the dugout, parents watching proudly from behind the fence, and those little in-between moments that make youth sports so special.
One of my favorite things to capture was the energy—gloves snapping shut, quick throws across the diamond, and those determined faces focused on the next play. It’s not just about the wins (even though double wins are pretty amazing 😉), it’s about the memories being made right there on that field.
By the end of the day, I was definitely feeling the sun a little more than I planned (note to self: apply sunscreen 😅), but it was completely worth it.
Days like this are why I love what I do—getting to freeze these moments in time for families, especially the ones closest to me.
If you’re looking for a youth sports photographer in Amarillo, Texas, I’d love to help you capture moments like these—whether it’s baseball, family sessions, or milestone memories. Because these seasons? They don’t last forever—but the photos can.
